I am researching my first horse trader. There are so many complaints that I'm surprised they are still in business. They go by numerous names. They not only have websites but advertise on Craigslist. So any additional information on these people will be helpful to buyers.
The website names I've found so far is texashorse.org akidhorse.com and aranchhorse.com
These sites are so similar it is obvious they are run by the same people. There are numerous complaints and I personally received a strange email when I inquired about a horse. I will have a full report in a couple of days so send me your stories, good and bad.
You don't want anyone to know the truth. You blog is one sided. Let everyone post their comment. My name is Debbie and I rescued a horse from a ranch horse last month. I will be the first to tell you that they are good people and that they tell the truth about their horses. My mare and foal had vet records and ferrier records and they were done by a VET and they checked out. Please keep this posting, it's only fair. You want people to post, but you only want the bad. That is not right. Krystle was very honest about every horse I looked at and I will rescue more horses from them. Thank You Debbie Jankins Houston Texas
ReplyDeleteI know this blog is old but I still wanted to write in and say that they lied and took total advantage of us. Fake coggins and lied about the age of the horse by several years. I wish I had found this blog first. People say...do your research. Well if they were/are such good people we wouldn't have too.
DeleteBy the way I started my own blog about them. and put a link to yours. Thank You Debbie Jenkins Houston Texas email address is debbiejenkins1963@gmail.com. I would love to chat with you
ReplyDeleteI am happy to post positive reviews, I have many friends that have purchased horses from this business. I will not hide or cover up the truth. The truth is this business has numerous complaints. The truth is this business has numerous websites with different names. My opinion is that they are horse traders not a rescue. I will have my new post up soon so I suggest you reserve judgment until you see it.
ReplyDeletePS I will look at your blog and be as fair to you as you are to me.
I am replying to every "positive" comment on here. It was a horrible experience. They are horrible people who took advantage of us in several ways.
DeleteYes I purched a horse from them too. I could not be more happy with my little girl. They told me that this horse was not for a beginner, and they were right, but I did not want a horse that will plug along. I wanted a horse I could team-sorting with. I got the best. Everyone wants to use my horse. I would go back to them when it's time to find a new horse. When you point a finger at them, their are 3 pointing back at you. I know there is some bad things about them, but you only hear the bad. Just like you are doing. You know you can't get it right yourself. Please stop the bashing, it's wrong. Magie
ReplyDeleteAgain I am posting on every positive/good commit about them. They were great when they were trying to take our money but once they had it they stopped taking our calls, we realized the coggins was fake and the age of the horse was way older than advertised. If they were not bad people before they certainly are now.
DeleteI spoke to the owner after being told that they would have new horses there and guaranteed kid horses, i drove all the way over there and it looked like i was driving up to a horse auction. all the new horses were loose in the arena with yellow tags on their butts. (clearly meant bought at an auction) he told us over and over that he bought these at ranches and rode each one 3 hours and put them through HIS test to make sure they are good horses. I was very disappointed as to have wasted my time going over there. Only having these horses for hours he cannot know much about these horses to quarantee that it is a kids horse. The place is a JOKE!!!
ReplyDeleteI would buy a horse from them. I bought 3 of them and they were all great. They were all what they said they were. My girl loves her horse. Please people they are great people and they know what they are talking about. They can NOT make everyone happy, but they do a great job. GO AND SEE WHAT THEY ARE ALL ABOUT!! Jan Davis
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of these accounts so I had to sign it as anonymous. My name is Jan Davis. Waco
Again I am posting on every positive comment. They are horrible people who took advantage of us. HORRIBLE PEOPLE
DeleteI have recently bought a hores from them and after buying the horse based off of what the had written about her, I have found out that it is not true. They also did not disclose any problems with her that infact she does have diverticulitis and has to have a special diet and be watched very closely. She has also not sold to previous buyers for the amounts stated in the add. If you are going to buy a horse from them I would do your home work on the horse before doing so or look else where.
ReplyDeleteJust a warning on some of the positive comments made here. According to my tracker several people have come to my blog directly from this seller. I'm not computer savvy enough to know if the seller is making these comments or if they are actually satisfied customers.
ReplyDeleteIf the seller is pretending to be happy customers...shame on you! If you are actual happy buyers then good for you. I'm always happy when someone finds a great horse. No matter where it came from.
I never bought a horse from them, but my friends have. They were very happy with the horse they got. I just think people should make their own mind up.

DeleteI bought 2 horses from these people and with in 2 weeks every horse on the property was sick the 2 i bought being the first to be sick just costly ....... sent one back because i could not get him well just toooooo sick and older than what they said he was. Carol Green Az.
ReplyDeleteI just picked up my horse this weekend. They did tell me he had an abcess but everything was ok. The horse was not limping. I did notice that he was thin, and I asked when was he last worming and they said about 2 months ago. They said when he got his abcess he quit eating but was now eating. I drove over 3 hours for this horse. I drove back and straight to my vet. Needless to say they checked for worms and the vet said that the horse had tons of worms in him not just a few but tons! And he abcess yes it had blown but was still very deep and I will not be able to ride him for at least a month to 3 months. They put him as beginner safe but he has been very spooky at the new barn. I hope this is just an adjustment period to his new surrounding.
ReplyDeleteI also noticed his coggins was from an auction, so they did lie about getting this horse from a ranch.
DeleteOur coggins was defiantly fake and the age of the horse was way older than advertised. After they had our money they gave us the run around. Still are and it has been a month. We paid ALOT of a 19-24 year old horse. We demanded some of our money back and of course they won't call us back - go figure.
DeleteI bought a horse from them this past week. The horse was nothing like they said and it is not a kids horse like they said. The guy that showed me my horse looked high on drugs or something too. I will be keeping my new horse but it needs work and is now sick. I wax told the horse came from a ranch and it has a sale barn Coggins
ReplyDeleteThese people are not honest at all. I was lied to, before and during the sale. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way, and I sure did. If you are a good horseman, you might could get a good deal on a horse here, but these horses are not time-tested for kid safeness. They have them for a day or two and then try to sell them.
ReplyDeleteI Bought a horse for my daughter from this place about a month ago and the girl that sold him to me was very honest about him. She even put her little girl on our new horse first to show how good he was. I will go back for another horse when the time comes to get another one. We love our new horse and my little girl rides him almost everyday. It was a perfect match and we are very pleased!
ReplyDeleteI recently purchased a horse from this place. I like the horse, I'm keeping the horse, but this is what I know. Before you give them your money, look at the coggins. I found mine to be from an auction barn. The owners name was on there with a phone number and I called him. Lucky for me, he is a good horse. The only descrepancies found were that they sold him as a 12 year old, according to previous owner and my veterinarian, he is at Minimum 15 - probably more in the 17 year range. The people at Aranchorse had a story about him being in a pasture the last couple of years and sold to them because the kid went off to college. Not true. Not that it matters, but they can just be honest. I would have bought him if they told me he came from an auction and they had put him through the tests and were confident about what they were selling. Just do your homework.
ReplyDeleteI bought a horse from them about 3 weeks ago, I am very pleased with her she is just like Krystal said she would be. We ended up coming home with 2 horses they are wonderful and I will buy a horse from them again you can bad mouth all you want but these pepole are giving these horses a second chance and that is such a wonderful thing to do.
ReplyDeletei bought a horse from them and he is awesome..............others shouldn't judge too quickly not all horses are great either!!
ReplyDeleteHere is my story about A Ranch Horse. I put a deposit down on a horse to hold. I was finally granted an appointment to come and see the horse prior to my transporter arriving to pick up the horse. Needless to say, the horse was not want they had promised, plus they were RUDE. They fought with me over getting my deposit back, but because they withheld information about the health of the horse, I did receive my deposit back. I am sure they come across many great horses, and I am sure that they sale many great horses. My experience was not good, and I would not recommend them to a friend. THEY DO advertise on craigslist under a different name, I have seen the ads myself. There is nothing wrong with saving a horse from slaughter at an auction, and then re-homing the horse. Just be honest about what you are doing and all is good.
ReplyDeleteI bought a horse by the name of "ransom" from Krysral. He is exactly as represented by the seller. Just a reminder for you folks complaining about your horses not being what you thought you were buying. If the horse is at your house and you dont like him; THATS YOUR FALT! YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY to try him oug before you bought him. If you didnt, quit blaming your ignorance and apothetic buying habits on somebody else.
ReplyDeleteI see you had a good experience with them. That's great. We were not so fortunate. I'm not sure who Krystal is as we dealt with different people but by the sound of your post it appears they have gotten even worse in the past year. They are DEFINATLY people I would warn everyone to STAY AWAY. They are horrible people who lied about not only her age by 8-12 years but her coggins was falsified so we could have been sold a sick horse.
DeleteYea you’re right. PEOPLE!!! BRING A VET WITH YOU SO THEY CAN TELL YOU SHE DRUGGED THE HORSE BEFORE YOU GOT THERE!!!!!!!!! We may have been IGNORANT to your SCAM. But hopefully we can give future potential buyers KNOWLEDGE.
DeleteWe bought a horse from them about a month ago. It is our first horse for our 11 year old daughter. I wish I would have found this blog before I gave them my money. They advertised her as a 12 year old and in fact she is anywhere from 20 to 24. I could see them being a few years off but that's a huge difference and of course they knew. They had a "tampered with" coggins that we discovered after the sell so we had to rush to the vet to get her tested and thank goodness she tested negative. All they are trying to do is turn over as many horses as they can and make money. After we got her home (and we paid WAY too much being that her age was way off) I called them wanting the previous owners information so I can get some history on the horse. First they told me the guy just dropped her off and was in the process of moving and would be calling them the following week. I should have known right then they were lying. What kind of person would drop off a horse and not leave their number so they can be contacted after the sale? No one. They gave me the run around big time. I am still trying to get some of our money back. I have written letters but of course no replies. Guess I should chalk it up to lesson learned. DONT BUY FROM THEM!!!!! For those of you that had a good experience good for you but reading this I see some of the same issues and it looks like it has only gotten worse!!!
ReplyDeleteThese people are bad horse traders. They buy huge lots of of horses at auction and then resell quickly. They know little to nothing about the horses. They take advantage of novice horse owners. A boarder at the barn where I keep my horse recently bought a horse from them. It was at least 300 pounds underweight. The vet estimated the horse at 26+ years old. The poor horse has no bottom teeth. You could call it a kids horse because it was so run down arthritic it couldn't move quickly. After a ton of vet bills they took a very seasoned trainer with them to trade the horse since they are very novice owners. He rode several horses and picked the less crazy of them. They are literally buying horses by the trailer load. They bring them home and if they can sit on them they advertise them as kid horses. I hate to think of what happens to the ones they can't ride. Of course they will come across some good horses given the huge numbers passing through their farm. If you are new to horses please stay away from these people.
ReplyDeleteWe purchased a horse from them in 2011 for my autistic son. She was everything they said she'd be and more! Horses are not cookie cutter commodities. Every one is an individual. I trust aranchhorse and would buy from them again.
ReplyDeleteClearly you represent aranchhorse.com !!!!! Are you Lisa????? We’ve been to your “facility”.....so sad what you do to horses and people.
DeleteIn the spring of 2016 after many phone visits and texts with Lisa I bought 2 ponies and paid $1500 to ship them. That was kind of high but ok if they had been as advertised, 12 & 9 yo and both were 12 hands & kid safe! According to the equine dentist here, the gelding who had been for a "handicapped child" is a "senior citizen" and has a deformed mouth. He bucks when a child just sits on him and he tops out at 11 hands! That is 4" shy of the ad and too small for my friend. I paid $900 for this elderly, arthritic, "foundered" wormy pony gelding who should've been put down and out of his misery. I asked her why his feet had not been trimmed for months or a year. She texted back that the farriers in her area would cripple a horse. Really? And she's not? I have spent way too much on acupuncture and vetting trying to make him comfortable :-( The tiny mare was sold as a 9 yo 12 hand kid pony with no vices. She is likely 9. But she is 6 inches shorter than the add standing at only 10.2 hands! She is nothing more than a large mini! She bucked my granddaughter off when she sat on her bareback because she's so flinchy. She is so ticklish & panics at the slightest touch. We worked all summer to desensitize and build her confidence without much progress. She will never be a pony for a child small enough to ride her! I paid $1400 for that!!! Paypal would've given my money back (not including my $1500 shipping) but they said I had to return the ponies with a tracking number. I told Paypal the ponies wouldn't fit in my mail box! So, Lisa rips off another buyer. I wonder if she told others about her poor health, how sick she is and thought she had a stroke last night, her mom was visiting, can't get good help, etc, etc. Just like so many buyers, she quit answering my calls and blocked my phone. I considered sending her a certified letter but for what? She is dishonest and will continue until she does something she can get sued for. It'll have to be one of you in Texas because it's too costly to sue out of state :-( It's fine to rescue but then ask rescue prices. People here laugh at me for paying $1400 for a mini as they offer $150! I never talked to Krystal, Lisa only said she was a young gal helping her. Sad that she is in on this corrupt business. Her shipper was vague also. I am SO lucky they did not come with Strangles!!! Yikes! Can the sheriff do anything because they are skinny and sick? Has anyone tried the humane society? I'm willing to help however I can to get her stopped from scamming people!
ReplyDeleteI lost 1500 dollars on a paint gelding that bucked and reared even bareback and just a halter on after 3 rides! Got the runaround too like horse would be replaced. Never happened of course. 2015 Lucky ones got good ones. Bought another before that, green broke, had to Finish it's training.62 yrs old and I'm stuck with crap!!! No money left to buy another one and too wary of anyone now.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why my comments keep disappearing but I wanna go on record here to say THEY ARE LIARS AND SCAM ARTISTS!!!! They sedate the horses and sell them to innocent victims. We had a vet come out and verify. We dealt with “Lisa” and she did it to us twice. The first horse nearly killed us. The second was so lame we just let him live out his life on our land. This place should be SHUT DOWN and somebody should be PUT IN JAIL!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM.
